I'm going crazy..

Picnic, musical fountains, pitstop, greetings, big surprise...

This has to be the best birthday I can remember.

But..

I wonder, has 2 years of doing brainless stuff and being at the receiving end of endless shit done something to my head? I seriously have some issues.

I know what the problem is, and I told myself not to be stressed. Dear is telling me not to be stressed. But somehow I still managed to stress myself out, which is absolutely crap.

I'm feeling crazy now. Because a part of me is joyous, yet another part is tearing itself apart.

Damn it..

What on earth is happening to me.......

Stuff..

Its mad.. really.

So many things happened this year, so it seems like it was only January yesterday. Time flew by in a flash.

Anyway, had a great time last night with some really nice people. Fun and laughter is the order of the day! Or night. Haha..

Damn I feel like I have a hundred and one things to do. But I also feel that I can manage every single one of them.

My brather has been very emotional lately. It kinda gets to me when I read his bulletin.

I still want a car because the coughing people are getting on my nerves. There should be a NEA officer on board every bus and fine people who cough/sneeze without covering their snouts. Oh, and nose-diggers as well...

..and that I can drive my girlfriend around so she won't have to endure aching feet when wearing those covered shoes.

Its damn hot now, and very hazy too.

My fridge is overloaded and it seems like the door may just burst open any time, spilling all my junk food on the floor.

I'm yawning away while typing this. 7 hours of sleep not enough?

Mid-semester syndrome

Its Thursday morning, 0037hrs. I came online to check some emails and decided that I had a couple of minutes to spare here.

Decided to leave that little MSN icon alone with a view that I could be stuck there for a couple of hours chatting. Having said that, I haven't really been on MSN lately...

I think I have been suffering from what you would call a mid-semester syndrome. This syndrome is caused by boring modules, a plethora of assignments and reports, and people who seem to be less motivated than they were last semester. This caused me to be more irritable, bitchy and frustrated. I may also seem withdrawn and tired most, if not all the time. If I have offended anyone along the way because of this syndrome, I most sincerely apologise.

But one person constantly makes me smile with her quirky antics, and home-baked cookies and brownies.

Although I don't say it to you often, but I really appreciate all that. I'm sorry that you have to bear with my idiosyncrasy all the time. Thank you so much dear.. :)

The Spirit of R

Having read what I wrote yesterday, I thought I sounded quite bitchy. Oh well, that's only because I was truly and totally infuriated with what I heard. But never mind, its over, and I'm not gonna think about it anymore.

Was browsing through a JDM export site yesterday and saw a 2002 final production series Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A up for sale. Then I began to wonder how cool it will be if I had the moolah to import one of these last run limited edition models. I will buy a white one and once I get it over here, I will bid for the number SFD3S, or SFR13B. The former, of course symbolises the codename (FD3S), while the latter symbolises front-engined rear-wheel drive (FR) and the engine (13B).

With this car, I can blow away pesky wannabes in their auto-tranny RX-8s and stay ahead of the numerous Evos and WRXs when the rotary twin-turbo is on full song. It is a rare piece of kit and best of all, I only pay the road tax of a 1.3 litre car. With that money saved from road tax, in goes a 4-point racing harness, roll cage and a big single bore cat-back exhaust. Not much else to modify since it already comes with Bilstein dampers, full Recaro buckets, adjustable rear wing and 17-inch BBS wheels as standard equipment.

Ouch... Being bumped back into reality hurts.. Ah.. I'm always daydreaming...

The mouth

The mouth is the most dangerous thing anyone can find on earth. Or rather, what comes out of it, the words I mean. It is so dangerous, that it should be classified as a WMD.

The truth is, you can't really stop people from saying what they want to say, even though it may seem like a joke or something trivial to him.

Not everyone would think that what you say is funny, nor regard it as a joke. Honestly even if you are going through some shit in YOUR personal life now doesn't warrant you to make a comment like that about others. There should be a limit to what you say, joke or muse about. Quite frankly, that kind of thing should not even be joked about. I have zero tolerance on comments like that.

Of course, its your own mouth, you can say what you want, and I can't stop you. I'm also too civilised to punch you in the face when you made that comment. Its just beneath me to react to such comments this way.

Thank you for making me think twice about feeling for you about your recent setback. Seems like people like you do not deserve something sacred called friendship. But you have given me another problem. That is, should I still take you as a friend? Or do what I hate doing; being fake?

In any case, I don't reckon I need a friend like you. In fact, I could do very well without. I have a great family, super brathers, my gang, friends and my buddy, and a fantastic girlfriend. There would be even more friends to come along, so I don't see any loss in my life. Not too sure about you though.

Its yet another Monday

When you are getting older, time seems to pass even more quickly because you have much more responsibilities and things to do. Its like the cliche, so many things to do yet so little time. Oh yes, by far the cliche is just so true.

Sassy

sas·sy1
adj. sas··si·er, sas··si·est

1. Rude and disrespectful; impudent.
2. Lively and spirited; jaunty.
3. Stylish; chic: a sassy little hat.

Hehe.. I think the latter two descriptions fit the bill more.. Its definitely not the first! =D

I love my new toy.

This is the 100th post for my blog.

Its a Saturday evening. Had some tasty zi char at Henderson Road. Its pretty good, filling, and cheap.

I'm feeling

But..

I'm not schizophrenic. Just a little eccentric.

These photos taken by yours truly are not going to win any competitions, but I thought they look pretty good...

Age

Today, my birth country turns 41. In a couple of days, I will turn 23.

Do things really turn better with age? I hope so. Looking back at some old photos and reminiscing past experiences and events made me smile and think how young and foolish I have been. But well, that is just a part of the growing up process isn't it?

Looking at my younger brother now reminds me of what I was like at that age, and I hope to make a difference to his life by providing him a guiding light that I didn't have at that age. Boys at that age tend to have an emotional struggle of sorts. Been there, done that, and I would like to think that I am still growing in all senses; emotionally, spiritually, and physically. There's always a learning curve, and this is what helps us get by each and every day.

RWD vs AWD

This is the kind of debate that you would expect on a car forum or a topic off an Initial D anime episode. So here's my two cents worth of what I think about it.

Inherently, an AWD/4WD car is more stable than a RWD. The grip levels offered by an AWD/4WD is something that other layouts cannot match. As much as I love the Golf GTI, it is still a FWD. So there will be nowhere near the grip levels offered by AWD, nor the fun provided by a RWD.

Take the Ferrari F430 vs Lamborghini Gallardo for example. The former is a RWD and the latter an AWD. The F430 has a mid-mounted 4308cc V8 that puts out 490BHP/465Nm of torque. It accelerates from a standstill to the century mark in 4 seconds flat. The Gallardo is also mid-mounted, but its engine is a 4961cc V10 that has 500BHP/510Nm. You would think that the difference in figures would pull the Gallardo away in a drag race. Well, frankly, no. The Gallardo does 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds, two-tenths of a second slower than the F430.

This has to be the weight advantage the F430 has, since the AWD mechanism weighs the Gallardo down quite a lot. Even the recent tweaks to the engine that saw horsepower being bumped up to 520BHP, the Gallardo still will not be able to match the F430 around a track. However, in the case of the latest Porsche 911 Turbo, it has AWD but reaches the century mark in 3.9 seconds. This proves that AWD still holds the slight advantage in acceleration times (since grip levels are higher), if not as an overall package. It also goes to show how weight can be such a detrimental factor in relation to performance figures.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to the question: AWD or RWD? Well, personally, I feel that AWD is a safe option for most, and RWD is for drivers who have a better control of their craft. Attack the bends with more than what you have, the AWD will keep things in check. However, do that in a RWD is asking for trouble as a RWD is less forgiving.

As the adage goes, straightways are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers. Anyone can go fast down a straight, but not everyone can go fast around a corner. With an AWD, most can master the technique of going fast around a bend. But a RWD requires much more skill and patience to master. That's why I would take a RWD anytime, as it gives me the opportunity to improve my technique.

What do I want?

The other day, somebody asked me what I want for my birthday. I asked, "What did you all give me last year?" The reply was, "Um.. I can't remember!!"

So I laughed and said "Hmm... I don't need anything now. No need la..."

Am I getting old?

I seriously think that WANT is a word which has multiple meanings. To desire greatly for something? To desire someone to do something? To seek intent to capture? To request the presence or assistance of someone? To be obliged to do something? It could go on and on. So I really don't know what I want.

Oh, and I was on my way home from school just now and I passed by some houses along Holland Road. On the vast driveways of these houses, you could see cars of every kind. There were the Mercs, a Porsche Cayman S, a Range Rover alongside a Mini Cooper S, BMWs of all kinds and the odd Jaguar. What does one do for a living to live in a house like that? The houses along Lornie Road are no less impressive, just that I couldn't see what is parked on the driveways.

6 August 2006

Its a Sunday afternoon, and I have just completed on the final touches of my WIL1 portfolio. I don't feel more relaxed because I still have:

2x OTD reports
2x WIL reports
1x MR test
1x MR report
1x ER essay
1x ER report

Of course, exams at the end of the semester.

But hey, I'm not stressed. Because I know that I can handle work and play at the same time. Life is full of positives!

Hiatus

I'm back here after going MIA for a week. Too many things to do. Felt a little crap yesterday, but dear made it much much better.

Look at the date, its August already. I can't believe 8 months just flew by like that. But well, lets just say there have been some really great times in these 8 months..

No muses today.. Brain is still preoccupied with WIL1 and the interview later this evening...
